It is not too early to start thinking about the 2011 Ocrafolk Festival which will be on the weekend of June 4-6. Reserve that space for this wonderful event.

Recent Events

The WYTC held its 20th annual Whortonsville Summer Solstic Sailebration this past June 20th, 2009. This event was hosted by the Sailing Club of Oriental in 2010 and will continue to be held on the closest Saturday to the Summer Solstice and will continue to be hosted by SCOO.

Once again in early June, 6 WYTC boats cruised to Ocracoke for the Ocrafolk festival. There were more boats from WYTC than any other club. This event has become very popular and dockage has become scarce.

Some WYTC boats are made a trip to Cape Lookout for the 4th of July.

On Labor Day weekend four boats headed out to Cape Lookout for what was promised to be a wonderful four days of beautiful weather. It is hard to imagine how the forecast could have been more wrong. In four days we made it to the beach between the raindrops for about two hours. The remaider of the time it was blowing and pouring so hard, visability was limited. It turned out to be the perfect weekend to look for leaks.

This year only one WYTC boat made it to the Spirit of Christmas celebration and that one boat was LAYLA. LAYLA not only made it but was about the most decked out yacht in Oriental.
