The marina includes 29 slips with water and 30-amp electric to each slip and a comfortable and clean restroom and shower facility. The slips are 16’ x 40’ in size, and the controlling depth to our docks is 5-1/2’. |
Our facility is located on Brown’s Creek at lat 35 05.77, long 76 37.95. Brown’s Creek is a branch off Broad Creek which connects to the Lower Neuse River near ICW mile marker 170. This location is very protected, yet offers easy access to the open waters of the lower Neuse River, the Pamlico Sound, and the ICW. We are about 7 miles down stream of Oriental, “The Sailing Capitol of North Carolina," and about 10 miles from Oriental by car.
All of the restaurants and services available in Oriental are just a short sail away and places like Ocracoke Island, Beaufort, Belhaven, Bath and Cape Lookout are within an easy day’s cruise.

Recent Events
The WYTC held its 19th annual Whortonsville Summer Solstic Sailebration this past June 23rd. 35 boats competed over the usual 10 miles course in light 12 knot breezes from the south east, after a brief squall delayed the start for a half hour. Brian Brown sailed his Moore 24 to victory over the ten mile course. Second place went to last year's champion, Graham Byrnes in his Southern Skimmer, and third place honors were taken by Earl Evans in his Watkins 33. Margaret Alexander finished in fourth place in her San Juan 21. In it's 19 year history, no skipper has ever won more than once over this 10 mile course.
Once again in early June, 6 WYTC boats cruised to Ocracoke for the Ocrafolk festival. There were more boats from WYTC than any other club.
Some WYTC boats are made a trip to Cape Lookout for the 4th of July.
